04-01 Distinguishing consciousness
Distinguishing consciousness. It does not sound very good. It sounds, I would say, unpromising. So you expect to read something philosophically thoughtful or esoteric. But in reality there is nothing mystical or especially complicated, but it is necessary to understand this question if you want to understand yourself.
Emotions, thoughts, wishes, sensations. None of these words are alarming because we perfectly distinguish between joy and sadness, and thoughts and wishes and sensations.
Here you read this phrase and maybe even did not pay attention that it is written “we distinguish” there. And this is also not surprising since we are fully able, if we want, to distinguish our perceptions. But if now you think about it – what does it mean “to distinguish”, then you just have to shrug your shoulders. I see a book and a table, I see blue and red, I feel warm and sympathy. I can instantly and easily distinguish a cat from a dog, sadness from joy. I know how to distinguish, although I have not the foggiest notion of what it is “to distinguish”.
But in fact we do not need to know this. After all, in fact, we just cannot say what “emotion” is. Saying “what is emotion” means to reduce emotion to something simpler from what it consists of. What is a “book”? A combination of sheets of paper, cover and so on. What is emotion?… Emotion. Just as we cannot define, that is reduce to something already known neither the emotion, the thought, the sensation, nor the wish, we cannot determine our ability to distinguish. These are axiomatic concepts in introspective psychology – in the science of investigating their perceptions.
Relying on our ability to distinguish, I also introduce the concept of “distinguishing consciousness” – only for the convenience of expressing thoughts since it is much easier to write “distinguishing consciousness” than “our ability to distinguish”.
04-02 Confidences
Confidence is another word that we often use but rarely think about what it means. Let’s do a simple experiment.
Look at the table where the book is. Do you distinguish the books on the table? Do you distinguish the image of the “book”, the image of the “table”? Of course.
Are you sure that the book is on the table? Of course, you are sure – here it is.
Now we change the conditions of the experiment a little. Put someone’s glasses on yourself. You have swimmy vision, very unpleasant, but wait a bit. Back off, turn around and look at the table again. Do you distinguish a pen on the table? Hmm… well, how to say… there seems to be something next to the book, but is it a pen? There is no clear visual picture, there is no distinction of the image of the pen.
Are you sure that the pen is on the table? You shrug your shoulders. Hell if I know, I am not sure. But if you could clearly distinguish…
This simple experiment shows us the following: what we call “I distinguish” and what we call “I am sure” are extremely closely related to each other. If there is no distinguishing then there is no confidence either.
Do you distinguish that you are feeling discontent now? I do not know, well, it doesn’t seem so… Are you sure that you are feeling discontent? I am not sure.
But now someone shouted rudely and sharply outside the window. You perfectly distinguish discontent and you are absolutely sure that you are experiencing it.
Confidence and distinguishing are indeed inseparable from each other. People invented two different words just to name the process with one word and its result with another one.
Confidence is the result of a distinguishing process, just as the thought is the result of a thinking process.
04-03 Effort of Distinction
You need to make an effort to distinguish a weak emotion in yourself. It is necessary to do your best. Is there anticipation now or not? It is unclear. And if you do your best to distinguish? Well, now… it seems so.
What did you do to distinguish the emotion, or to make sure that you do not distinguish it? Again there’s nothing to do but shrug your shoulders. “I did my best to distinguish” – that is all that can be said, but in fact, this is quite enough for us to practice the engineering of perceptions! If I have a shovel in my hands, it is enough for me to dig a hole and plant a tree. Questions like “what is a shovel”, “what is a “metal” can certainly be interesting, but it is not at all necessary to know the answers to them to plant a tree.
Now the main thing for us is to know that there is something we can do and what we call “an effort to distinguish perceptions”, and we call this process “an effort to distinguish” precisely because the result of this process is distinguishing and the corresponding confidence. I distinguished anticipation – at the same moment there was a confidence that I experience anticipation. I did not distinguish it- there is a confidence that I did not feel any anticipation. If there is no clear distinguishing, there is also no absolute confidence.
04-04 Intensity of Confidence
Read the last sentence of the previous section again. You did not stumble on this phrase, was there anything strange for you? Probably not. And meanwhile it says “there is no absolute confidence”. “Absolute confidence”. Does it mean that there is also “nonabsolute confidence”? Yes, there is. We often say: “I am absolutely sure that… “, or “I am not quite sure that …”.
Confidence can be of different quality what we reflect in these words. I call this quality “intensity of confidence” – just to indicate it somehow.
It is convenient for me to introduce a confidence intensity scale of 1 to 10, by analogy with emotions,. Confidence at 10 is complete, absolute confidence. Confidence at 1 is extremely weak, barely existing.
04-05 Confidences as a Skeleton of the Psyche. Blind Confidences
In books on psychology – whether professional or amateurish ones, you can find a lot of information about emotions and almost nothing about confidences, and yet confidences are the most important element of our psyche. Certainties are the skeleton of our psyche. On them, like on bones, there is the “meat” of emotions, thoughts, behavioural stereotypes. Accordingly, all that we find in our culture is also attached and approved on the framework of those or other confidences.
For example, an Australian aboriginal woman will never understand the horror that a European girl will experience when being half-naked in a crowd of people. Why would she be worried? After all she simply does not have such confidences that would lead to such reaction. She, on the contrary, is absolutely sure (we still use the word synonym “convinced”) that the bare girl’s chest is perfectly normal, there is nothing shameful or surprising in it. She even would quite calmly have sex right in the middle of the square, what’s the problem? Someone will see? Let them look, she does not care… But she has other confidences and she watches the plane in the sky with reverence and awe which the European does not look at, and for any money and blessings she will not touch the “sacred hoof” as she is sure that this is a “taboo” and that the violation of taboos entails innumerable misfortunes.
Is her confidence based on some practical experience? Will touching the hoof really draw misfortunes on her tribe, even if absolutely no one sees it?
It would be a waste of time to ask her these questions, just as it is completely in vain to ask a modern girl the question of what is shameful in sex. They are simply convinced, each in her own thing, and the strength of this confidence is that common sense simply does not have access to these confidences. The reasoning beats like waves on a giant cliff and cannot move it or wash it away.
I call such confidences “blind”. Each of us, probably, faced amazing examples of how destructive the influence of blind confidences can be. For example, a person can be in total poverty affirming that it is meaningless to be engaged in private business since “it will not work out anyway”. For the examples of successful attempts of other people he finds such interpretations that allow not to question his confidence, for example, “he was lucky”, “he was originally capable of this”, “he had conditions” and so on. I know a lot of people who for decades, that is, almost all their lives, live with unpleasant or even very unpleasant relatives, husbands or wives, suffering but without making an attempt to change their lives only because they profess a blind belief that “in principle he is not a bad person” or “this is my duty”, without attempting to critically examine their confidences and, by doing so, consistently destroying their chances and opportunities.
If people clearly understood that the overwhelming majority of their emotional reactions, their attitudes, fears, assessments and, as a result, actions are based only on blind confidences, how easy it would be to change everything and begin to build their lives on the base of common sense and joyful wishes, limited, I would note, to legislation and common sense :).
04-06 Training in a Change of Confidence
Finding your blind certainties may not be so easy, especially if there is no one to look at your life from the outside and give clues. Sometimes capturing of internal dialogue and its subsequent analysis can help. For example, sit down and within five minutes write out all the thoughts in a row which arise on a particular topic, for example, on the topic of your mother or wife, work or future or sex and so on. Then you can analyze the content of these thoughts and if among them there suddenly turns out to be something definitely absurd, this may be a sign of the presence of blind confidences in this topic.
Is it easy to change the blind confidence after it is discovered? Experience shows that it is usually very difficult to do this. The blind confidences create an interconnected, mutually supportive framework that is perceived by a person as a mainstay of reliability, a guarantee of predictability and comfort, even in cases when this predictability guarantees basically only the suffering, poverty and slave status for a person.
In order to facilitate your work on the discovered blind confidences (BC) you can preliminary train. A very effective practice is, for example, the practice of cyclical change of confidence. For example, close your eyes and plug your ears, and rotate around your axis a few times in a dark bathroom. Having stopped, you will have no idea about how exactly you are standing – facing or standing with your back, or sideways to the door. The probability of any outcome will be approximately the same. Imagine that you are standing facing the door and not just imagine but try to feel the confidence that it is so. If you manage to feel the confidence, even if it is of medium intensity, then imagine that you are actually standing with your back to the door and also generate the appropriate confidence, and repeat it for several times while you are interested in doing it. You will be convinced that even such a simple experiment of changing confidence is not easy. The practice of cyclic change of confidence gives you the opportunity to train the appropriate effort just as you train your muscles.
Even the simplest experiments with confidence can be very interesting. For example, curious effects can arise caused by a practice I called “not-rivers, not-mountains”. It comes down to a very simple substitution of words: walking along the street you say “not-tree” instead of “tree”, “not dog” instead of “dog”, “not-cloud” instead of “cloud” and so on. And nothing more – just adding the particle “not” before each word. The main mistake in doing this practice is trying to squeeze something out of yourself. You do not need to “try to feel unusual”, just add particles and nothing more, and the unusual will find you with certain probability.
Another potentially interesting practice is the sequential fixation of obvious things. Looking at the mountain you say: “the mountain is a lot of stones”. This albeit is not quite accurate but in general true statement that everyone can easily assure oneself of. Immediately after this, look at the face of the person to whom you experience tenderness, a sense of beauty, sympathy or just remember this face and formulate such thought: “this face is a piece of meat”. This phrase is also completely correct from the anatomical point of view. Alternating these two clarities, one can experience an unusual effect at which the perception of the mountain can spontaneously cease to be ordinary and plane. And again, I will advise the same thing – do not squeeze out “unusual feelings”, simply capture two clarities by turn and the unusual will find you with certain probability.
04-07 Effect of Merging
Can you say something specific about “how do I fall asleep”? Probably not. At first I do not sleep and then I wake up. That is why you want to call the moment of falling asleep “a moment” rather than the “a process”, as it is the moment for us, which leaves nothing in the memory. Meanwhile, falling asleep is a process in which there are very interesting and even mysterious phenomena. One of them I call the “merging”.
When you go to bed and lie for a while before falling asleep, you distinguish outside noises – the ocean is noisy outside the window, the water is flowing in the bathroom, someone is talking behind the wall, someone’s footsteps outside the door. You distinguish them as you do throughout the day. The noise may be indifferent or it may interfere with falling asleep.
In the process of falling asleep sooner or later there comes a state in which you suddenly realize that you no longer distinguish individual sounds. You are still awake and can effortlessly drive away the coming sleep and, in addition, you can capture such an amazing phenomenon: the boundaries between perceptions have disappeared and there is no noise from the ocean, people’s voices and the sound of water in the bathroom – there is a single “sound perception” where there are no borders. The work of the distinguishing consciousness which is habitual for wakefulness has stopped and this is a very interesting and pleasant state of “merging” followed by other extremely interesting stages of falling asleep, if one is able to continues observing.
The moments of merging, even those that are occasionally recognized by us, are too short – a few seconds maximum. To experience them more often, go to bed in such a state when the wish for sleep is pleasant. Usually it happens when you go to bed for a short while during the day, or when you wake up in the morning and want to lie a little and get some sleep, and also if you go to bed not late at night at nine-ten pm when the wish to sleep is easy, pleasant. Further, while falling asleep, observe what is happening to you – without tension but just for the sake of curiosity. The slight curiosity and pleasure of distinguishing states will not prevent you from falling asleep.
Sometimes it is interesting to do the practice of repeatedly falling asleep: you go to bed and your partner watches your breathing. Once it becomes characteristic for a sleeping person (deeper, more noisy), he wakes you up, after which you fall asleep again. This practice allows making many attempts to control the process of falling asleep and increases the likelihood that you will be able to detect its stages.
One can also think about whether there is a causal relationship between the cessation of distinguishing and the almost instantaneous falling asleep, and what this means.
04-08 Resonance of Distinguishing of Perceptions and EP
One of the most interesting facts is that the distinguishing of perceptions resonates with EP. That is, in order to increase the volume of EP, it is enough just to make efforts to distinguish your perceptions often asking yourself a question “what am I experiencing at the moment”.
If this fact does not seem surprising to you, then I advise you to reflect on it for a while. I will not deprive you of the pleasure of coming to some interesting hypotheses and assumptions that follow from this simple observation by yourself.
In order to investigate own confidences, to identify those or another related regularities, to try to control them, I want to compile their catalog, to divide them into types. Below I will show how I did it for myself. The abbreviation “BC” means “Blind Confidences” and the abbreviation “EC” is for Enlightened Confidences, that is, those that resonate with pleasant states and which often arise in the process of observing oneself, in the process of distinguishing perceptions and subsequent analysis.
04-09 BC-1: Terminators
BC-1: “terminators”. These BC destroy your aspirations.
*) “You will inevitably and soon grow old”. By “growing old” is meant not only and not so much external changes in the body as certain senile changes in the psyche – feebleness, loss of wishes, dementia, stupor, etc. But it is absolutely clear that the inevitability of aging is completely groundless since it concerns people living a terrible life – without EP and EC, without ES and joyful wishes. It is not surprising that a person continuously injecting various poisons into himself will eventually grow old and decrepit, but what will happen to a person who cultivates enlightened states? This is not known to anyone yet. It is possible to overcome the influence of this BC by focusing on clarity in the lack of experience of aging for a man who lives many years in enlightened states and also by observing own development under the influence of enlightened states.
*) “Happiness is fleeting”. This BC destroys pleasant states as soon as they appear, and the longer the pleasant state lasts, the more powerful the destructive influence of this BC becomes. Overcoming its influence can be through perseverance in the attainment and experiencing of enlightened states, when it becomes quite certain that the longer you experience EP, the more you are able to experience them stronger, longer, more diverse.
*) “I can’t do this”. It is an extremely common BC, especially among girls who since birth are instilled that they are not doers or creators.
04-10 BC-2: Earthing Switches
BC-2: “Earthing Switches”. These BC limit you.
*) “My fate cannot radically differ from the fate of other ordinary people”. By imagining your future, you can imagine that you will live differently than other people, but still not too differently, not radically differently. This BC is cutting wings to your wishes, dreams, aspirations, belittling them, landing, not allowing them to become powerful, amazing, breathtaking of anticipation.
*) “I am insignificant” and “I am important and significant” – two BC of tremendous destructive power. The first is more often implanted in girls, the second – in men, forming SSI and SSS, respectively. SSS is much more hard-hitting than SSI since the person is inclined to perceive critical information, to question it, listen to it and think, while the SSS person is completely blocked for this.
04-11 BC-3: Inhabitants
BC-3: “Inhabitants”. These BC dictate to you how to live, driving in the scope of the ordinary prison, dullness and despair.
*) “It is necessary to have a family and children”. It is believed that this BC affects the girls most of all, but if this is so then the difference seems insignificant to me – with no less success it also destroys men. This BC transforms a person into a paranoid who first experiences destructive anxiety until he has a family and children, and then, after that, the same destructive comfort and vain expectation that this will make him happy or, at least, satisfied with his live by itself. Of course, this never happens, because it is necessary to compete with the same BC among other things to become happy, and after you got family and children their number only increases sharply.
Family is not only living with a nice person. This is, among other things, the sudden emergence of hundreds of imposed and unpleasant, if not unwanted, rules, duties, debts, concerns, stereotypes of behaviour and thinking, mutual jealousy that wraps you around like a cobweb and suffocates you. This does not mean that life together with someone, as well as the birth of children cannot be combined with an interesting and rich life. It can be. But you should be aware that it will take a lot of work to do this. And keep in mind that you cannot even imagine what kind of people your children will be born and grow up. Is there a high probability that you will be close and you will be pleased to spend monstrously much time with each other for decades? Look at other families and the answer will be obvious.
*) “Relatives are people close to you”. There is nothing more incidental than relatives. You do not choose your parents and your parents do not know what kind of person they will give birth to, yet the BC is rampant that relatives are close people. These BC makes you squeeze out of yourself feeling of closeness to the not-close, it forces you to be engaged in self-stupidity so as not to notice the obvious proximity. It makes you spend your life communicating with the distant, if not the unpleasant people, and, for example, if you have a wife, this BC often makes you be engaged in continuous self-destruction suppressing any sexual and erotic attraction to other girls, and if you have children, you spend all your time and resources on them, although they often appear to be people not close to you. This BC often forces people to communicate with uninteresting, distant, and sometimes even disgusting people for all their live creating an endless closed circle of relationships, disappointments, quarrels, misunderstandings, desperate desperation and militant pessimism. This BC kills the ability to make friends, love, it kills the search activity aimed at finding close and interesting people.
(Is there a way out or is the family doomed to be an eternal burden of humanity if it wants to survive? The way out is if the born children do not become the property of the parents, but belong to the state, and if children are selected after they were born and raised on the basis of mutual sympathy.)
*) “We must receive education”. It is interesting that, a seemingly completely progressive BC has evolved into a real scourge of civilized people in the conditions of its fanatical confession. People violate themselves and others by getting education during the first most important twenty to twenty-five years of life! They thereby kill the ability for immediate experiences in themselves, and, oddly enough, the need for cognition. Education has become a whip for self-torture and torture of others. It also serves as a plug for dullness and routine – it is enough for a person to stand on the rails of getting an education to become a dumb creature, confident that he is doing something useful. When, in the end, such person discovers that there is not a title of something aspiring, being interested, alive in him, it seems to him that it is too late to change something, the world around him is terrible and incomprehensible, and all he has to do is become a cog in some machine and struggle to cling to his place giving him at least some minimal benefits in exchange for total enslavement. Educated people often find themselves helpless, afraid of the world around them – many of them simply did not have time to live and gain life experience. Educated people often turn out to be stupid, unable to adapt, create, enjoy life and help others to seek their joyful wishes. No tyranny can be beneficial, including the tyranny of education.
*) “We must fuss and continuously do something”. You are taught to never rest, do not lie around, do not stay in doing nothing. Fears which do not allow you to relax and just enjoy doing nothing are introduced into you. The background of anxiety caused by this BC leads to continuous parasitic hyperactivity, including a feverish state of internal dialogue that exhausts and immobilizes you.
04-12 General Information on Enlightened Certainties
Unlike BC, the “enlightened confidences” (EC) are based on common sense and experience, and are formed in accordance with the resonance arising between them and EP. For example, the BC that you will live a maximum of 80 years and at 50 will be old and decrepit begins to kill your interest in life at age of 25. On the other hand, EC that experiencing EP and “enlightened sensations” (ES) you will live no less than 200 years can cause a whole bunch of JW and be a constant source of a whole pack of EP.
The cultivation of EC is no less important than the cultivation of EP and ES. It is convenient to describe EC with the help of thoughts that reflect the essence of these confidences.
It is possible to single out several types of EC in accordance with which sets of EP resonate with them.
04-13 EC-1: Motivators
EC-1: “Motivators”
*) “It’s barely begun”. This confidence can be described by the following words: “All the previous time – it was the time of preparation, rollout, and the most interesting, the most unusual is yet to come.”
This confidence is easier to experience if you think that, just in one year, for example, you will have more experience in experiencing EP and JW.
*) “Confidence-200”. I will live no less than 200 years, as I will experience EP, OZO, my body will become only sturdier, healthier and stronger, I will discover so many unusual things and change so much that no aging can overpower me. As your age approaches 200 years, you can generate confidence-300, etc.
*) “Step by step”. Step by step, one small change after another – in this way I’ll go anywhere, I’ll get anywhere I want, into the most incredible areas of consciousness, make amazing discoveries and change my very life, myself in an amazing and interesting way.
*) “Incredible is possible”. Now it is impossible even to imagine which incredible discoveries can be made. Did Leeuwenhoek know when he viewed microorganisms in his first microscope that this would lead to fantastic discoveries in cell biology, genetics? Did the first chemists know that their trials disordered at first would lead to fantastic results in the form of nuclear power plants, space flights and nanomaterials?
*) “I will be able to assist”. According to the law of nature about the resonance between different EP, the more you want to do in order to make your own life rich and cool, the more your desire to assist people, who are nice to you – those that you know, and even those, you don’t know yet , and even those, whom, you probably, will never know. For example, you can imagine that somewhere in Brazil, in three hundred years, children will live without being subjected to violence, will enjoy life as they wish in complete freedom, and that this also will be possible as a result of the fact that you will make some contribution to the study of EP, to training someone from your present or future environment, and even this image, which seem to be extremely remote from your reality, will cause sympathy and openness, increase the richness of your life. The assurance that sooner or later there will be people close to you whom you will be able to assist directly or indirectly, teach, significantly affects the formation of a favorable internal and external environment for your existence.
EC-1 resonates strongly with the “EP spring cluster” (see. the chapter “clusters”).
04-14 EC-2: Substantivators
EC-2: “Substantivators”
*) “It’s a law of nature”. There quite often are skeptical parasitic assurances, accompanied by thoughts that all these studies of perceptions are something ephemeral, vague, unstable. As you gain more experience in EP studies, these BC weaken, and you can put confidence in their place that all that you are researching and experiencing is the same inevitable law of nature as the law of attraction. For every action there is a reaction – it is the law of nature. Sympathy resonates with a sense of beauty – it is the law of nature.
*) “Desires lead to changes”. In the fact, people usually have BC dominating that their desires do not mean anything, do not change anything. This BC oppresses JW, actually burns them out. In addition, this BC destroys the desire to investigate JW and their effects on people. This EC opposes it.
*) “Confidences can be replaced”. This EC leads to the emergence of desires to control own confidences – to identify and eliminate BC, to create and cultivate EC.
*) “Rest, and you will liven up”. You have the necessary reserve of vitality, which will make your life rich, interesting. In order to liven up, it is enough not to kill yourself with constant extinguishments. There is no need for any assaults, continuous efforts, heroic self-overcoming in order to reach a high level of richness. There is no need for feverish actions. It’s enough just to rest from extinguishments – just “to be on vacation” for reviving consistently.
*) “Everything I do, I do at my own will”. This EC destroys the habit of fathering the responsibility of your live upon anything – upon other people, upbringing, conditions, difficult childhood, circumstances and etc. This EC helps to understand, that almost all unpleasant things in your life are supported, oddly enough, by you.
*) “Even a weak and short-term ES or EP or JW significantly affects your body, making it healthier, more enduring, able to experience more enjoyment of different kinds and more several pleasant and unusual ES, EP”. Usually BC consisting in the fact that EP and EB have very weak influence on the body, on the psyche is inherent in those who use Selection. It’s is a kind of perfectionism, when a person is convinced that only very bright and very long EP can change something in him. As a result, it turns out that as soon as a person experiences EP or EB, he immediately begins to convince himself that this is too little, it is not enough, that it is nonsense in general, thereby killing the effect of the evolutionary influence of EP and EB, suppressing EP and EB. In fact, this is not quite accurate. Even a short and feeble pleasure in some spot of the body, even a weak general pleasant state of the body strongly influence it, make it healthier and more enduring, capable of experiencing even more pleasures. It is necessary to become aware of this and remind yourself of this in those moments when you experience at least a brief and a little pleasure, enjoyment. Similarly, it is possible to formulate EC concerning the influence of EP and JW.
EC-2 resonates strongly with “triumph” and “serenity”.
04-15 EC-3: Isolators
EC-3: “Isolators”
*) “I don’t owe anything to anyone”. The influence of BC is absolutely killing. The thing is that a person believes that he must justify the expectations of other people, often completely distant and even hostile. There are people who during all their live try to justify the absolutely meaningless expectations of their grandmothers, who died long ago. It leads to suppression of JW, to self-destruction. It also leads to the continuing sense of guilt. Meanwhile, each person is responsible for himself, he/she determines what he wants. It is an immense relief to throw away the burden of contracts that you never signed.
*) “They are sleeping”. People constantly dream up about other people, attributing the outlying qualities to them. For example, some elderly woman is sizzles at you, hating you because, in her opinion, you are obscenely dressed. What does it mean to you if you understand that this elderly woman is a person who does not think for, does not seek for, does not feel any EPs, but simply being an accumulation of blind mechanisms, a heap of fetid NEs? She actually sleeps, she is in a coma. Take offense at her or try to talk her round, to explain – it’s like trying to convince a broken washing machine. Of course, people prefer to talk nonsense about the fact that in every person there is something alive, pretty, whole universe and other pathetic nonsense, whereas reality, unfortunately, is such that in many people this prettiness is almost completely gone, because during decades they systematically destroyed themselves by their stupidity, NEs, by suppression of JW. Clarity is that the person who is experiencing aggression to himself is simply stultified (at least at this particular moment), he/she allows to calmly approach the emerging situations, soberly make decisions based on estimations, reasonable assumptions.
EC-3 resonates strongly with serenity, a sense of mystery and aspiration.
04-16 EC-4: Antagonists
EC-4: “Antagonists”
*) “I do not have to learn anything” is an example of certainty of private type antagonist. The cult of knowledge has turned into one of the types of violence and self-abuse, incidentally degenerating into a cult of remembering formulas and terms. All those whose intellect is at least slightly developed are burdened with the weight of BC, which consists in the fact that “recognizing,” “learning,” “remembering” is not just a way to enjoy life through intellectual activity, but, above all, a tiresome and often a disgusting necessity, a duty. Therefore, it is expedient to perform EC, according to which there is no need to study something. He simply do not wants to imagine himself as a person who simply does not want to learn languages or science – he likes to be distressed, swim in perceptions, look at birds without knowing their titles, and look at the stone falling into the water, not thinking about the laws of gravity and hydrodynamics. Having created such an EC, you can experience a feeling of liberation from a fictitious duty, accompanied by a chord “joy of existence.”
If you experience not much pleasure in your life so that you try to maximally exploit the pleasure of gaining knowledge – even when it is already becoming weak or even turning into a means of blocking platitude, then the generation of this EC can be accompanied by anxiety, the fear of the disappearance of one of the methods of self-allayment.
The desire to learn quite calmly coexists with this certainty. If now there is a desire to learn something, then it does not interfere with confidence in the fact that you do not have to learn anything. Moreover, it helps to stop in time to realize your desire and not suffer from perfectionism.
By analogy with this one, it is possible to define other confidences-antagonists. For example, when playing tennis, it is advisable to maintain confidence that you do not have to play, etc.
We are so accustomed to torture ourselves, we have been tortured so much throughout our life that every kind of activity, even one that is motivated by JW, is expediently accompanied by an appropriate confidence-antagonist.
*) “I’m sick (although you are completely healthy:)” is an example of certainty of general type antagonist. Many of them have become accustomed from childhood to the fact that during their illness they are left (more or less) alone and stop being tortured with school and other things, and you can just lie around and do nothing or do what you want, like read, play, etc. Therefore, the generation of such confidence can resonate with serenity, living life as an adventure. I pretend to be sick and they left me alone. The confidence “I have a vacation” is of the same quality.
EC-4 resonates strongly with a chord “joy of existence.”
04-17 EC-5: Demonstrators
EC -5: “Demonstrators”
*) “There are new axons, synapses, VEN-neurons” is an example of demonstrator. Scientists have obtained evidence in the form of a direct videorecording of the fact that during the memorization of something in the human brain, new axons, synapses in neurons are formed, and they arise in a matter of minutes, seconds. Remembering any word of a foreign language, you can imagine how right now a new axon is being formed in your brain. This image (accompanied by confidence in the ongoing development of the brain) is pleasant to cultivate simply because it is associated with the development, perfection, evolution of the brain and because it leads to the experience of pleasure inside the head.
*) “Muscles are growing” – this demonstrator is pleasant to generate during physical activity, imagining how muscle fibers grow stronger, their number increases, they become elastic.
*) “Healing is in progress” – this demonstrator is convenient to generate together with any image. For example, if you have a knee pain, you can maintain the image of a blue cool cloud that permeates the tissues of the knee and heals them – the invention of the 22nd century. Occasionally, you maintain the belief that the knee is cured. Even these painful sensations themselves can be interpreted as a consequence of the process of healing that has begun, like you have to hurt yourself a little, taking out a splinter. The pain is convenient by the fact that it makes it easier to attach attention – it remains only to accompany this attention with the certainty that this pain is the result of the fact that the treatment is successful.
EC-5 also causes, among other things, pleasure in the corresponding part of the body.
